Early Childhood Program

SMEC’s Early Childhood Program ECP, located at 4238 Acushnet Avenue New Bedford, serves students PK-K with autism spectrum disorder and similar needs. Students are taught in a substantially separate classroom with a small student/staff ratio and highly trained, specialized staff.

Early Childhood Program staff includes a special education teacher, paraprofessionals, licensed therapists (including OT, PT, BCBA, and SLPs,) and licensed mental health counselors to support students in all core content areas, ADLs, social-emotional needs, physical education, and art. A music therapist is also available to provide periodic music therapy.
