Parapro Assessment Testing
SMEC is one of the only test facilities in the region for the ParaPro Assessment. Designed by ETS, the ParaPro is a standardized measure of an individual’s reading, writing, and math skills for the purpose of certifying paraprofessionals and teacher’s aides. The assessment is in accordance with the No Child Left Behind Act and a requirement for Paraprofessionals in lieu of college education for Title I Schools. The test itself is 2 1/2 hours long and contains 90 multiple-choice questions that cover both individual knowledge and practical application in the classroom. The fee to take the test is $80, and is administered by appointment only.
Make your appointment using the calendar below. Before making your appointment, you must make payment via our online payment portal. Once you receive your confirmation email of payment, you can make your appointment and use the confirmation number in the email receipt.

Booking and Payment Process
We no longer take payments On-Site. Make sure you make your payment through the link below before scheduling: If you do not use the Confirmation Number from your purchase receipt, your appointment will be cancelled!
First, check the calendar below and ensure there is a time available that works for you.
When you have identified a time slot that works, you then need to make a payment. Click on the ‘Make Payment’ button to reach the payment portal. From there, click on the “Parapro Exam” button.
Please note: Visa is not accepted for payment at this time.
Once you have made your payment, you will receive a receipt with Confirmation Number. Type this number into the field when filling out your information in the scheduler below.
If you do not use your valid Confirmation Number when scheduling your appointment, your appointment will be cancelled.
