LPN
SMEC is seeking a strong and diverse pool of applicants for the position of LPN for our year-round Adult Day Health program. Our nurses are responsible for the health care of enrolled members and administration of all health related activities and documentation. Work includes providing nursing care and completion of state and agency required paperwork, as well as advisement to staff on medical issues/protocols, and ongoing parent/guardian contact.
This is a Year-Round day shift position, no holidays! Licensed Practical Nurse license in Massachusetts required. Benefits Eligible (Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurances, 457b/403b). This position qualifies for the Massachusetts State Retirement System (MSERS). Occasional local travel between programs may be required to support individuals at different program buildings.

Special Education Teacher: Multi-disability Program
SMEC is seeking a strong and diverse pool of applicants for the position of Special Education Teacher. Experience working with students with multiple disabilities and medical fragility strongly preferred. MA DESE licensure in Moderate or Severe Special Needs required.
The Teacher manages the classroom on a day-to-day basis by planning and providing instruction based on the MA Curriculum Frameworks, demonstrating effective classroom management, developing and implementing measurable Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals, providing assessment and curriculum design as well as supervision of students, classroom staff and ongoing parent contact.
This is a School Year Position (184 days) plus a 5 week part-time summer program. Valid licensure as a special education teacher (with minimum Moderate designation) or waiver eligible from the MA Department of Education required. SMEC is seeking a strong and diverse pool of applicants for the position of Speech Language Pathologist. The CCC-SLP provides consultation and/or direct therapy services, completes initial and tri-annual evaluations, develops and oversees implementation of IEP goals and objectives and utilizes effective curriculum materials and behavior management strategies.
This is a School Year Position (184 days) plus a 5 week part-time summer program. CCC preferred. School-based experience strongly preferred. Valid licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist from the MA Department of Education and Valid licensure by Board of Registration for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology required. Paraprofessional
SMEC is seeking a strong and diverse pool of applicants for the position of Paraprofessional. The Paraprofessional assists teachers with classroom management on a day-to-day basis by providing instruction and assists in the input/development of and implementation of the Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals, assessment and curriculum design, as well as supervision of students and ongoing parent contact.

Minimum of an Associate’s degree/equivalent or passing ParaPro test* score required. Ability and willingness to achieve a 7D license and complete the RBT training within required timelines also required. Experience working with students with special needs and medical needs. Positive Behavior Support and/or ABA/RBT background strongly preferred.

Direct Care Staff – Day Program
*We are offering up to a $500 hiring bonus to all direct care staff successfully hired.
This benefit eligible position is Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm. No nights, no holidays!
Must have valid drivers license and good driving history. Must have reliable vehicle. Must be able and willing to drive all program vehicles. Successful candidate must pass CORI/SAFIS, and Driver History check.
Direct Care Staff provide support services directly to adult individuals in the day program, at their places of employment, and/or in their residences. Assists in the implementation of the Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals including learning routines of daily living, facilitating inclusion in the workforce, and driving individuals to/from employment sites, programs, and residences.
