Participants: Teachers, Specialists, and Administrators
One way to support students with special needs is to uncover their strengths. This course
offers teachers and administrators an opportunity to learn; 1) who the SPED students are in
the school or the classroom. 2) how to uncover their strengths, and 3) ways mindfulness
and SEL strategies can minimize stress for SPED students. The course will include a practical
application of the ideas learned in the course lessons.
The courses offer administrators ways to provide teachers and support staff with SPED
strategies they can use in the classroom. It is useful for observation and feedback
conversations and ideas can be included in professional development training. Cost $150
Registration ends January 12th and courses begin January 19th with completion
February 16th (extensions upon request). These self-paced courses are designed
to be completed in 3-4 weeks or less. More than one course may be taken. 15
PDPs are awarded by SMEC upon successful completion of required
assignments.

Requests for withdrawals and refunds must be made prior to deadline.  All cancellations subject to a $50 administration fee. January 12, 2024 is the registration deadline.
