Course Description: One important way to support students from other cultures is to build a relationship with them. This course offers participants an opportunity to learn; 1) who the ELL students are in your classroom and school, 2) how to use social and emotional skills to build a relationship with your ELL students, and 3) how mindfulness practices can be used to minimize stress for ELL students. The course final will include a practical application of the ideas learned in the course with students in your school or classroom.

The content is self-paced and delivered in a .pdf document which includes videos, readings, and reflections. An online mentor communicates with each course participant by phone at the beginning of the course to confirm the timeline for course completion and to answer any questions. The online mentor also reads and responds to all reflections at the end of the course. No book is required.
